1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Handy Hookup (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. The Platform is owned and operated within Nova Scotia, Canada. If you do not agree to these terms, you must cease all access and use.

2. Service Scope & Credentials

Handy Hookup acts solely as an introductory regional marketplace connecting local homeowners ("Clients") with independent, local handypeople ("Handypersons" or "Pros"). We do not employ Pros, do not verify background credentials, references, or insurance records, and make no guarantees regarding the timeliness, quality, or safety of any completed work. It is entirely the responsibility of the Client to verify all references, insurance, and professional credentials directly with the Handyperson before booking or starting any work.

3. Listing Fees & Billing Terms

Users pay a subscription fee to maintain active listings and use features on the Platform.

• Independent Handyperson (Pro) Fee: $20 CAD per year, with the first 6 months completely free. Automatically billed to the linked Stripe payment method unless cancelled.
• Homeowner (Client) Fee: $5 CAD per year, with the first 6 months completely free. Automatically billed to the linked Stripe payment method unless cancelled.
• Subscription fees are non-refundable once billed.

4. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall Handy Hookup, its founders, or affiliates be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from any handyperson booking, dispute, property damage, or bodily injury occurring during local jobs. Clients and Pros negotiate prices and outline projects directly at their own risk.

5. Disputes Between Parties

If a dispute arises, it may be logged through the Platform within 72 hours of job completion for record-keeping and platform quality reviews. However, Handy Hookup does not provide dispute resolution, legal mediation, or financial arbitration. All resolutions, refunds, or settlements are strictly between the Client and the Handyperson. Handy Hookup reserves the right to review platform logs and suspend or terminate any user account in violation of our terms, but will not act as a mediator or arbitrator in any homeowner-handyperson dispute.
